At the beginning of April was my 35th birthday, and I had the joy of celebrating it decently healthy and indecently happy with my loved ones. My husband, together with his parents had bought me a new camera - more than happy, I was actually shocked and stunned, not at all prepared for such a change and very uneasy with this huge, heavy thing with far too many buttons.

With the camera came one lense, which is meant to be some kind of a allround toy (SIGMA DC 18-200mm 1:3.5-6.3 HSM), and a few weeks later arrived a macrolens (AF-S MICRO NIKKOR 105 mm 1:2.8 G ED) my husband had ordered for me when he bought the camera. It was first after the arrival of the macro lens that I actually took the camera and tried it, very nervous and with shaky, swetty hands. And there it was - the beginning of the love affair of the century! It wasn't so big and heavy I had thought it to be, and not as impossible to understand as I had feared. Since then I have tried it several times, slowly learning the differencies between this new thing and the old compact.

So now my days are filled with the two favourite activities of mine, gardening and learning photography! I have no idea yet of how I'll manage to make enought time for both of these extremely time consuming passions, plus manage the obligatory house cleaning and cooking! But I know there'll be a lot fever and shorter visits to DA too during the light summer months, and so I thinks this is a good moment to wish You all a warm summer, great shots and beautiful memories to bring back with You when the summer's over and we'll all be spending more than enought time here on DA!
